Rut & wiess (red and white) - Cologne's city colours are getting a boost. Switzerland, with its red and white flag, was the partner country of this year's aquanale.

Helvetia not only has beautiful mountains, but also dreamlike lakes - on the one hand those that are of natural origin and on the other those that pool creators have created. In the past, the latter have often come out on top in the European swimming pool award EUSA AWARD - as you can see from the following examples:

This year, the whole of "Swimming Pool Europe" again had the chance to win medals, because the EUSA AWARD went into a new round, and the winners were honoured at aquanale in Cologne on 24 October.

After the presentation of the winners, aqua suisse invited guests to an aperitif and they could look forward to wine from Switzerland. With its location, Switzerland perfectly symbolises the internationality of the fair, and thus the wine region fits the Cologne swimming pool get-together from home and abroad just as well as the Swiss flag.

Although different countries have different priorities, many trends are shared by the entire continent. These include "green swimming" with a focus on energy efficiency and water management, digitalisation and attracting skilled workers.

How Switzerland is meeting these challenges could be learned at the International Swimming Pool and Wellness Forum. How can one qualify as a swimming pool technician? What is behind the designation of Helvetic water specialist? What innovations are there among our neighbours that save energy and water, and who invented "Smart Pool"? Answers to these and other questions will be given in the specialist lectures at the aquanale congress.

In addition, there was the opportunity to be inspired by the dream bathrooms "Made in Switzerland". The projects nominated for the aqua suisse Award were on display.
