SUSPENDED BETWEEN CITY AND NATURE

On the top of a residential building in Brescia, Preformati Italia signs a technologically advanced work of great beauty

A transparent infinity pool located on the fifteenth floor of one of the most prestigious complexes of the Leonessa d'Italia. It is here, at the gates of the historic center of Brescia, that Preformati Italia has installed a masterpiece of beauty and technology, in which to experience moments of relaxation with a truly breathtaking view, on one side the dome of the Duomo Nuovo and the Castle perched on the Cidneo hill, on the other the woods of Mount Maddalena.

A privileged observatory suspended between city and nature, desired by the client to carve out their own Eden in total privacy. The pool is the work of designer Diana Bugatti, who was able to perfectly express all the expertise of the Vicenza-based company in a product with highly innovative technical characteristics: "The roof slab did not guarantee the capacity required to support the weight of the pool and its components, which is why we collaborated with a team of engineers to develop the most suitable solution”, explains owner Enrico Puppi.

The solution that was reached involved the construction of a steel platform raised from the slab, resting exclusively on two lateral pillars. To meet the aesthetic needs requested by the inhabitants of the house, the pool was Further embellished with a stoneware staircase, designed to access it with elegance and practicality. Above it was positioned the pool made with Klimapool Floating, a patented construction system, composed of a self-supporting and floating structure, made up of a bottom and walls in materials with a high insulation coefficient and a load-bearing skeleton in stainless steel. Thanks to the absence of anchors, the integrity of the sub- floor and any pre-existing waterproofing, usually present on terraces, is guaranteed. The result is a swimming pool with a great scenic effect, built in a single piece inside the Preformati Italia production plant, then transported and placed on top of the Brescia building with the help of a crane installed in a single morning. The staircase leading to the pool was also created using Klimapool technology, mirroring the internal one, thus ensuring further containment of the overall weight of the installation.

The 70 mm thick transparent acrylic wall is of great beauty, from which the water elegantly skims, pouring into the collection channel below after a one-meter overhang, which gives movement and dynamism. The internal and external stoneware cladding was chosen in a light color to give a sense of continuity between the spaces. amplifying them, as well as a clear and crystalline shade to the water itself. The geometric profile of the pool and the play of symmetries of the two stairways are emphasized by the lighting system composed of RCB LED strips, installed on the floor along the entire internal perimeter of the acrylic wall and under the steps. Equally important is the management system, in this case integrated with the home automation system for convenient, simple and immediate remote control. Thanks to technology, it is also possible to heat the water to use the pool in the cold months or cool it in the warmer ones. Also in this case, Klimapool makes the difference and proves to be a valuable ally in containing costs and reducing heat waste.
